How Can We Help?

Explore Your Options, a new job portal designed to connect employers with job seekers in Northeastern Ontario, will be officially launched on Feb. 22, 2017.

It’s an initiative of the Far North East Training Board, in conjunction with the Local Employment Planning Council and the Timmins Economic Development Corp. (TEDC).

Explore Your Options - Job Portal Homepage The new website is bilingual and mobile-friendly, so jobs seekers and employers can also check in using their phones and tablets.

“The TEDC developed JobsinTimmins.ca a few years back, and other communities that saw how successful it was were interested in becoming a part of it,” said Julie Joncas, the training board’s executive director, in a release.

“Working together, we’ve expanded the site to seven other community centres. Now that they’re up and running, the FNETB will take over the maintenance and upgrades needed in the future.”

From the regional site, visitors can visit local portals for specific communities, including: Timmins, Cochrane, Kirkland Lake, Temiskaming Shores, Kapuskasing, Hearst, Chapleau, and James Bay Coast.

“One of our city’s Strategic Plan priorities is to offer assistance to other communities in the northeast, because a stronger region means stronger local economies,” said Fred Gibbons, chair of the TEDC, in the release.

“The JobsinTimmins site was getting over a million page views every year, and we anticipate a significant increase with the expansion of the site.”

Use of the site is free to registered employers and job seekers.
